The most successful competition the Tom Cats have ever competed in!
At the end of a very long day, a coach of very happy Tom Cats went home with three trophies
and big smiles. We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed ourselves. Our members were a credit to themselves and we couldn't
be prouder of them for all their hard work and lovely wonderfulness. Special mention to the London City Stars, Reading Bunnies
and Leeds Celtics for their fantastic spirit, friendliness and achievements: the sense of community among the university squads
is what makes the events so special. Bring on Telford...
XMAS BLOWOUT
We performed onstage at the union for the last night of term doing four performances, comprising
of small dance, medium dance, partner stunt and christmas routines. It was a very good showing for us and everyone involved
had a lot of fun!!!
Christmas Party
We had a nice little party at the Happy Man to celebrate the onset of the winter holidays. It was
fun.
Vikings vs. Tsunami's
It was a nice day for cheering when the sun was out- and we now 90% know whats going on. We know
when to cheer and everything. Our impromptu cheering skills are getting good too, and newbies have been tentatively making
up cheers, which is always to be encouraged. Medicine provided enough food for everyone afterwards, which was good. The boys
were a bit gutted to have lost but seemed to appreciate our routine at the end and even sang the song we were dancing to when
the music broke. They really are nice lads.
Vikings match report
Tom Cats supported the Vikings in an away match against Surrey. A lot of brave souls came out, pom-pons
in hand for the match, a really good showing for our squad!
20/11/05 Vikings v. Cobras
We are starting to really understand the rules of the game.... we think..
The boys lost but were very gracious about it.
Tom Cats support The Vikings in their first ever match, 07/11/05
Despite the wind and rain, a sturdy crew of cheerleaders went to support the Royal Holloway American
Football Club in their first ever match. The boys played with enthusiasm and determination, and were very noble in defeat!
The Tom Cats will continue to support the Vikings at further upcoming fixtures.
Tom Cats go to Wembley! 30/10/05
The Tom Cats competed in the Southern Classic regional competition at the Wembley conference
centre. Competition was fierce and the squad narrowly missed out on the trophies, but they performed with grace, enthusiasm
and style which meant we can all be proud of their achievement.
Performance at "AU Launch Party" night at the SURHUL building Wednesday 19/10/05
Old and new squad members performed on stage at the students' union on the annual sports
themed night. In line with the highly successful sporting tradition at Royal Holloway as organised by the SU, this very popular
"come in your kit" night is a highlight of the cheerleading calender as we put together the routine with new members
in just 4 days, and showcase the routine the squad took to the BCA international cheerleading competition.
Tom Cats support Streetleague Football Charity! 8/10/05
Members of the Tom Cats cheerleading squad travelled to Catford in London to sideline cheer
a Streetleague football tournament. This highly successful day saw the attending squad members choreograph and rehearse
a routine involving complicated stunting and cheering in just 30mins. We had an amazing crowd response and performed the routine
again later by popular demand!
